Dr. Macena was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she earned her first dental degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense. After moving to the United States, she completed her Master’s Degree at New York University College of Dentistry. She later earned her second dental degree from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, graduating with high honors.
Dr. Macena is deeply passionate about building long-term, meaningful relationships with her patients while delivering the highest quality, gentle, and painless dental care.
She believes that trust and education are the foundation of excellent dentistry. Dr. Macena takes the time to listen carefully to her patients’ concerns and clearly explains diagnoses and treatment options using visuals and models, ensuring that patients fully understand their oral health and the proposed care. Her goal is not only to treat existing concerns but also to serve as a “health coach,” empowering patients to prevent future dental problems through education and preventive care.
Dr. Macena has a special passion for cosmetic dentistry and smile transformations, including veneers, crowns, and gum surgeries to enhance tooth proportions and correct gummy smiles.
Outside the office, Dr. Macena stays energized by traveling, spending time outdoors with her husband and son, taking dance classes, and enjoying quality time with her family in Brazil.
